"Gubbio Prize 2012
The National Association of Historical and Artistic Centers - ANCSA (Italy) and the City Council of Gubbio (Preugia, Italy), announce "Premio Gubbio 2012".
The aim of the competition is to promote concrete advances in practice in historic areas and towns.
The evaluation of participating projects will relate to ANCSA's main cultural and operational objectives related to the active conservation and regeneration of built cultural and landscape heritage:
- An appropriate design for the physical, social, cultural and economic re-use of the existing architectural and landscape heritage, a design capable of integrating conservation and innovation;
- Effective integration between future urban needs and architectural design;
- Proposals for economic and social management of interventions appropriate to their nature and purpose.
One section of the competition is open to public or private sector organizations and groups that have promoted and/or implemented urban plans, policies and projects in European countries other than Italy after January 1, 2007.
