The "George Enescu" University of Arts "George Enescu" of Iasi carries out its activities in several buildings located in different areas of the city. The complex on Horia Street, which provides spaces for music and theater education, is a conglomerate of various buildings from the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.

One of them, with ground floor and first floor, where the laboratories of the Department of Thermal Engines of the Technical University "Gh. Asachi", was consolidated and refunctionalized in order to provide spaces for both specialized education and student performances.

By partially modifying the existing building, it was possible to create: a theater hall, a concert hall, four small rehearsal rooms, spaces for actors and musicians. In order to organize independent access and vertical circulation, the building was extended with a glazed volume.

In the central space, provided by the existing building's conformation, were located: on the ground floor - a theater hall with a capacity of 84 seats, upstairs - a music hall with 77 seats.

The volume of the halls, walls and ceilings are designed according to the specific acoustic requirements of each hall. The finishes used in both halls are: wooden plywood, with smooth and perforated surfaces, and carpeting for the floors.

In the theater, the fittings for the all-black stage space are reduced to a metal grid suspended from the ceiling. The possibilities for stage lighting are somewhat more generous. Later, at the expense of the number of seats, the theater was given space for sound and light control.
