Public space or the revenge of neglected perspectives

Designing the public realm in a contemporary manner is the order of the day. Many achievements, especially in protected areas and historic centers, delight us with their details, textures and inspired insertion into the architectural landscape. It is, of course, complicated to intervene in an area with complex determinations, but the professional satisfaction is also commensurate.
Too rarely do we think of ourselves as reacting like spoiled children of our time, seeing only what is worth seeing. Somewhere in the background, the drab decor of socialist neighborhoods lingers, like a scenographic flaw. And there, in the neighborhoods, people live, hopes fade and lives are lived that could aspire to a minimum quality of built environment. On the outskirts, in the social housing areas, the public domain - forever parasitized by the functions of the passing traffic and impoverished by the needs of traffic and parking - is in urgent need of rehabilitation.
With verve and courage, reconciling aesthetic aspirations and economic constraints, the Clujatheliercetre requires a new attitude.
