"European Construction Public Procurement, Current Issues and Perspectives"
The European Construction Law Association is organizing in Bucharest on October 25-28, 2018 its Annual Conference on : "Current Issues and Perspectives of Construction Public Procurement.
The Romanian Construction Law Association has been a member of the European association since 2015, and since last year it has taken over its leadership and has also assumed the organization of the annual conference.
The main theme of the "European Society of Construction Law" conference will focus on the current issues and prospects of public procurement in the field of construction at national and European level, but the debates will also cover other topics of wide interest for the construction market, from the impact of new legislative changes to new trends in the field, whether we are talking about the particularities of contracts in the construction area, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution methods or issues throughvind special construction legislation.
The conference will also benefit from the presence of international speakers, as well as of renowned Romanian construction law specialists. The speakers invited to participate in this year's conference will discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions they have identified in the field of public procurement, as well as ways of dispute resolution in public construction projects, model contracts or other issues related to this field.
The conference will be structured as follows:
October 25, 2018: "ACADEMIC FORUM & WORKING SESSIONS", is the day on which it is intended to create a platform for discussion on several current issues in the field of construction law. The session will be structured in two modules, an academic one, in which the scientific papers registered by the authors and approved by the scientific board will be presented, and then, a debate on the future of specialized studies in construction law, both on the existing ones at European level, but also on the possibility of developing such programs in Romania. The second part will be reserved for specialists in the field, lawyers, architects or consulting engineers who will debate on current issues in this field.
October 26, 2018 will take place the "PLENARY SESSION" , in which 11 country reports on the current status of public procurement legislation in each country will be presented. Each reporting country will send to Bucharest a public procurement specialist, academic or recognized specialist, who will have 25 minutes to present the current state of play in this field and future challenges in the European context. Among the reporting countries: Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Switzerland and of course Romania.
October 27, 2018 is also the date on which the "GENERAL MEETING OF PRESIDENTS" of ESCL member associations will sign the updated Constitutive Act of the European Construction Law Association, an act that concludes a 3-year period of negotiations between member states and we are glad that this event will take place in Bucharest.
