Team EFdeN on the podium in the first two events of the competition!
Reason to celebrate! On the 26th day since the EFdeN team has been in Dubai and on the 5th day of the official finals, we were awarded as vice world champions in the engineering and construction chapters and we ranked 3rd in sustainability. The competition consists of 10 events, 6 of which are juried and 4 monitored.
The Engineering and Construction challenge aimed to assess the construction and systems included, innovation, integration and implementation. Teams had to demonstrate a high level of electrical and mechanical installations. The chosen structural system also helped, considering the chosen solution and optimized material consumption.
"An excellent approach to design and use of passive strategies. The team worked on the design of the house in such a way that the exterior space was fully integrated with the envelope of the house", was one of the conclusions of the international jury.

The Sustainability challenge evaluates how each team managed to reduce the environmental impact of the house during its life cycle while maintaining comfort and health, the inter-disciplinary way of design and the way they use climate strategies.
"The team has managed to push forward the sustainability agenda at a national level. They have managed to have an impact both on children, through courses and workshops, but also at government level. They have demonstrated a sustainable approach to project features, emphasizing active and passive strategies, but also taking into account the feasibility of the project," said juror Dr. Kheira Aoul, sustainability specialist.

The competition started with 14 days at full intensity!
