Baia de Arhitectură, a competition for the development of the Cerna bank and the recovery of a lost space, organized by HerculaneProject

contest!

We're looking for student architects to scatter with great ideas over the heads!

Hmm, you know the promenade Empress Sissi used to walk on? Well, it's gone, and all that's left today are the little tubs of sulphurous water inviting you to the bath. However, the space is not at all landscaped, the descent is hard and there are no places to sit or relax. The site is a very valuable historical landmark, which is why we aim to reclaim it and create a platform for the community and tourists to use throughout the year.

By organizing the Baia de Arhitectură summer school, the Locus Association wants to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and the urban space in Băile Herculane by realizing an urban development in the historical area on the banks of the Cerna, and to provide tools for the diversification of the educational process and the training of specialists in the area through the summer school. In this way, through a single project, we aim to help both the local community and future architectural specialists. It is hoped that the impact of the project will be one of the steps in the overall strategy to reactivate Herculane Baths through heritage, culture and architecture.

AWARDS
1st place - Securing a place in the summer school and execution of the solution
2nd place - Diplomas of merit and presentation of the solution on the association's website
3rd place - Diplomas of merit and presentation of the solution on the association's website

The solution will be executed during the summer school that will take place from July 8 to July 17, and the winner will have a guaranteed place.

The jury is composed of architects such as conf.dr.dr.arh. Șerban Țigănaș, arh. Marius Moga, prof.dr.dr.arh. Ioan Andreescu, landscape architect Alex Ciobota, and the Municipality of Băile Herculane is represented by Mr. Mayor Cristian Miclău.

The summer workshop will be coordinated by eng. Marius Șoflete with surprise guests!
