The door of the Bucharest East Centric Triennial 'HOME/any/more?' - 2019 opens

Bucharest, October 7, 2019 - The third edition of the Bucharest East Centric Triennial "HOME/any/more?", opens today, at the University of Architecture and Urbanism "Ion Mincu" - Bucharest, the series of events that will take place in the capital until October 20.

Approaching the concept of HOME from an interrogative, open perspective, the Triennale brings together projects from over 25 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, China and America (Central and South), Africa and Asia, with open questions on the theme of housing.

"Organized by the Arhitext design Foundation together with the Romanian Order of Architects (as main strategic partner) and the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism and the Romanian Union of Architects, as strategic partners, the Bucharest East Centric Architecture Triennial "HOME/any/more/?" is an international event targeting the Central and Eastern European region, where we will be joined by guests - architects, theorists, professors - from all over the world", says arh. Arpad Zachi, Triennale Director.

In addition to the big names in international and local architecture who will be speaking at the event - Sarah Robinson (USA/Italy - Chair of the Critical Discourses session), Marc Jay (Denmark, Chair of the East Centric Awards 2019), Eva Prats and Ricardo Flores (Spain, speakers), the event will attract an estimated specialized audience of 6,000 architects, theorists, critics and students in the field, as well as an estimated general public of 10,000. Directly involved in supporting the Triennale activities are 200 specialists from Central and Eastern Europe. Bucharest will play host to guests from Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia, Russia, Greece, Turkey, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Ukraine, USA, China, as well as from many cities in Romania.

The opening and exhibition "(My) HOME/any/more/?" are complemented by two other interesting openings and exhibitions from Belgium, "Inventaires # Inventoires (Wallonie Bruxelles)" at NOD Maker Space and China: "Inventing a Home" at Mogoșoaia Palace.

The first guests of the Triennale are journalists, as the Triennale opens with the Press Day, as a preview of the Opening of the Exhibition "(My) HOME/any/more/?" which, together with the launch of the Triennale's catalog, marks the official opening of the Triennale at the "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urbanism - Bucharest (UAUIM). This will also host several activities of the 2019 edition of the Architecture Triennale: conferences, book launches, presentations, juries and debates for some of the Triennale's sections, in order to be as close as possible not only to professionals, but also to students, future architects and designers who will carry forward the theme of "living".

Two festive events will bring recognition to the Triennale: the award ceremony for the Critical Discourses essays at the Bucharest National Theatre and the East Centric Awards Gala at the Mogoșoaia Palace. The public and participants will also have the joy of music - Diana Rotaru with the SonoMania Ensemble and the Sound Choir, conducted by Voicu Popescu, will add harmony to these days.
