The German Embassy organizes a CONTEST:
"The Euphoria of Rediscovery"
new clothes for the Berlin bear

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the German Embassy invites all pupils and students with artistic flair and talent in the country to a competition to design and paint new costumes for the acrobat bear "Great Nolle". The prize is worth 500 e uro.
The theme of the competition is "The Euphoria of Reunion", the euphoria of reunion between East and West Germans and between East and West Europe in 1989 with the fall of the Iron Curtain.
Then the bear in new clothes-the Big Nolle-acrobat will find his place at the entrance to the German Embassy.
Buddy Bears, were launched in 2001 as ambassadors of tolerance, peace and understanding between peoples.
In 1989, the fall of the Berlin Wall turned the world upside down and triggered a continent-wide transformation. It was a moment of rupture, marked by the prospect of a new beginning and the euphoria of reunion.
Thirty years on, the German Embassy in Bucharest aims to bring back the excitement and strength of those times through a symbol of Berlin - the bear.

Just like Germany and Romania 30 years ago, the Great Nolle has been turned upside down and, inspired by the same enthusiasm that characterized those times, we challenge you to paint it and recreate the euphoria of a new beginning. We want the Big Nolle to convey enthusiasm and optimism and to remind us of the energy hidden in us as citizens.
In the annex and in the last link below you can find all the information on how to enter the Embassy's competition, and on the Embassy's Facebook page you can watch the movie with the story of the Great Nolle Acrobat. Free to use!
