UrbanEye Film Festival 6th edition starts!

Premieres, special guests and events at the UrbanEye Film Festival

The sixth edition of the UrbanEye Film Festival starts on Wednesday, November 6, and will take place at Cinema Elvire Popesco and Arcub. The main theme of this year's festival is nature and the city. Between November 6 and 10, UrbanEye presents some of the most impressive and outrageous stories about man's relationship with the environment.

The selection of films illustrates different facets of how the urban environment and nature influence each other in different parts of the world, such as Nepal, Iran, the USA and Europe.
Many of the films have been part of the selection of renowned international film festivals and are presented for the first time in Romania.

Some of the films in the program are accompanied by Q&A sessions with special guests, from directors and producers to architects.

Also on November 9, at the Cinema Elvire Popesco, after the film "Urban Nature: the brachen of Berlin", the audience is invited to a conversation on Nature in the City, with the participation of Dr. Sandra Jasper (co-author and co-producer of the documentary), Nicoleta Marin (geographer passionate about nature protection) and Corina Trancă (landscape engineer).

On Sunday, November 10, Arh. Ilinca Păun Constantinescu will talk to the audience after the film "Melting Souls", which tells the story of Norilsk, the largest city in northern Russia and one of the most polluted on the planet.

Also on Sunday, the movie Timebox will be presented by director Nora Agapi. The film will be shown in an accessible format for the visually impaired, with the help of the Traveling Book Foundation and fARAD.

TheUrbanEye Film Festival also features related events on nature and cities: a guided tour through Bucharest's urban park - the Văcărești Natural Park and two special workshops, one for children (De-a detectives of nature in the city) and one for the general public (Mixed Spaces and Realities Workshop). Pre-registration is required for both workshops, registration details can be found on the festival website.

In the workshop On Nature Detectives in the City, little ones are encouraged to explore the city and its relationship with green spaces. The workshop is organized in partnership with the Association de-a arhitectura, which will take the children on a two-hour tour to observe the role of vegetation in the city.

In the Mixed Spaces and Realities workshop, participants will discover new territories at the convergence of real and virtual space, following the evolution of the newest forms of communication defined by new technologies.

The workshop offers an introduction to the spectrum of new media technologies with a focus on augmented reality, virtual and mixed reality and other related technologies. Demonstrative VR, AR, MR projects and applications and interactive installations that are related to nature and the city will be presented.

The workshop will take place in the CINETic center, is coordinated by Augmented Space Agency and has RIZI STUDIO and COLLIDER VISUALS as guests.
