BIOM 2024

As a related event of the OM (Oltenia-Muntenia) Architecture Biennale, with the theme "RECENT", the Argeș and Prahova Branches of the OAR are organizing this architectural photography competition, which proposes to document those examples of façade materials, ornamental details and art or mural decoration relevant to the architecture of the 1960-1989 and which have stood the test of time.

The energy-efficiency process is mainly concerned with the 1960-1989 building stock, which is still largely unprotected by law. We therefore propose this visual exploration, open to anyone who wishes to participate, as a basis for a critical debate on how, to what extent and by what means the design for thermal insulation will include references to the relevant architectural vocabulary of the period.
