EASA 1:1 2022

03.06.2022

In its 42nd edition, EASA [European Architecture Students Assembly] is taking place for the first time in Romania. The participants will gather in Călărași for two weeks, exchanging ideas through a program full of workshops and lectures strongly related to the architecture industry and education, led by professionals and creatives from divergent spheres of activity.

EASA is currently the largest network of architecture students in Europe, and is a cultural platform providing space for the free exchange of thoughts, ideas, methods and new architectural practices. The annual event brings together students and professionals to form a community of participants, tutors, organizers, volunteers and guests.

This year's theme aims to explore the 1:1 scale. The multitude of surfaces we interact with in everyday life defines the 1:1 scale and the ways in which we understand it, and EASA 1:1 emphasizes spatial analysis and the relationships between drawing scales and idea construction. The two weeks will delve into the implications of spatial, artistic and social understanding drawn from analyzing maps, scales, objects as novel tools for measuring and constructing 1:1 spaces. The workshops are organized in several categories, such as construction, with different levels of complexity, but also theoretical development of ideas related to the main theme, as well as others.

EASA Romania has open call for participants, volunteers and guests. The deadline for applications is June 11, 23:59.

EASA 1:1 is organized by EASA Romania, and will run from 30 July to 12 August 2022, and invites architecture students and young professionals, as well as students from other creative fields who are interested in the EASA theme and community. You can follow all updates about the event on easanetwork.org and on EASA Romania's Facebook and Instagram pages.
