PRESS RELEASE ON THE RESULTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SOLUTIONS COMPETITION

DEVELOPMENT OF THE CLUJ-NAPOCA CETĂȚUIA

INTERNATIONAL SOLUTIONS COMPETITION FOR THE URBANDESIGN OF THE "CETĂȚUIA" URBAN ENSEMBLE IN CLUJ-NAPOCA

Urban Culture Center - Casino, Cluj-Napoca (Central Park "Simion Barnuțiu")

Between May 28 - May 30, 2019, the jury of the projects entered in the International Competition of Solutions for the urban ensemble "Cetățuia" in Cluj-Napoca, a competition officially launched on April 5, 2019, took place. The competition is organized by the Romanian Order of Architects (OAR), promoter Cluj-Napoca City Hall.

On Monday, July 1, 2019, starting at 14:00, the Center for Urban Culture - Casino, Cluj-Napoca (Central Park "Simion Barnuțiu") hosted the press conference to announce the winners.

PRIZES AWARDED

First Prize: design contract with an estimated value of

1.476.149 RON, excluding VAT

Second Prize: 70.000 RON

Third Prize: 45.000 RON


Following the jury's deliberations, the winning projects were selected, namely:

The award procedure is a single-phase solutions competition, the aim of which is to award the design contract for this objective, open in Romania, the countries of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation.

The competition is organized in accordance with the Rules of Competitions of the International Union of Architects - UIA - and the provisions of the International Recommendations for Competitions in Architecture and Town Planning adopted at the UNESCO General Conference of 1956, revised on 27 November 1978, in compliance with the provisions of the legislation in force on the award of public procurement contracts.

The competition joins a series of architectural competitions organized in Cluj-Napoca, a series that started in November 2016 with the Three Ages Tower competition, followed by the Ethno Park Cluj competition, Rethinking Someș, the Railway Park, the Kogălniceanu Urban Planning competition and the New Cluj County Council competition.
