Creating (in) the new rurality

We opened the series of creative residencies in Țibănești: writers, musicians, painters and graphic artists, fire arts, textile arts, IT and architecture. The series of residencies starts with the creative writing fellowships, a program that aims to support contemporary Romanian writers.

"The Literary Creation Scholarships Fundația Cărturești, Maria Association & Pro Patrimonio were born out of the desire to promote and encourage the development of contemporary Romanian literature, starting with the support of its authors. In a book market dominated by translations, where for most authors writing is their second, if not their third, job, the project of these scholarships and residencies aims to give writers the necessary context to devote themselves to writing: time, 'a room of their own' and as few external constraints as possible." We offer the fellows an intense story, peppered with living in a living place, in constant transformation, where the legacy of Petre P. Carp meets the achievements of the present; a story about architecture, creative traditions, crafts of now and then. About another way of living and looking at the countryside.
