AMA DESIGN won two awards at the German Design Awards 2020

Two interior design projects by AMA Design - the office space BitterStrawberry and the café 5ENSI - nominated in the Excellent Architecture category, have been declared "Winner" at the German Design Awards 2020. The awards ceremony took place on Friday, February 7, 2020 in Frankfurt.
The German Design Awards competition is organized by the German Design Council to discover, present and celebrate outstanding design projects. It is now among the most prestigious design competitions internationally with an excellent reputation. More than 5,000 projects were entered for this year's edition, 55% of which are from countries outside Germany.
AMA Design is a Romanian architecture and interior design company, founded in 2000 by architect Anda Manu, specializing in the design and interior design of office spaces. The AMA Design team currently consists of 15 full-time architects and has realized, in 20 years of activity, more than 200 interior design projects (approximately 1.8 million square meters). The company has more than 30 multinational company headquarters in its portfolio, having signed many of the most significant recent projects in Bucharest, such as the headquarters of IBM, ING, Finastra, Electronic Arts, Orange or Playtika.
"We are very proud to see that two of our projects are internationally appreciated. The local office space market is constantly growing and in the last five years we have been involved in most of the projects developed in Bucharest. We are glad to receive this recognition", said Anda Manu, Managing Director AMA Design.
The design theme for the 1,200 square meter offices of BitterStrawberry, a company in the advertising industry, was to create a cozy space with many informal areas for working and to represent the young spirit of the company. The brainstorming and meeting spaces are completely unique, with elements not found in a typical office space.
The judges' statement for the BitterStrawberry design award was: "The design combines colors, shapes and materials with brightly colored plants, pop art works and various pieces of wooden furniture. It is extraordinary how they all harmonize to form a coherent whole. The result is a unique interior that infects the visitor with good mood."

AMA Design's second winning project was the interior design for 5ENSI, conceived as a multi-functional space - café, restaurant and bar. With a design with a strong personality and an ideal location - in the center of Aviatorilor 8 complex, 5ENSI quickly became a landmark in Bucharest.
"The polygonal structure of the ceiling, formed by triangles reflecting the space and the guests, creates a special atmosphere that stays pleasantly in your memory," was the jury's statement for the award given to this project.
