Adriatic Academy of Architecture and Archaeology Onlus
The 28th and 29th of August 2014 were dedicated to the XII Edition of the PIRANANESI PRIX DE ROME, a prestigious international competition of built architecture organized by the Adriatic Academy of Architecture and Archaeology in partnership with the Order of Architects of the Province of Rome.
The Spanish architect JOSE' IGNACIO LINAZASORO (San Sebastian, 1947) won the Lifetime Achievement Award. His works - including the Escuelas Pías Cultural Center in Lavapiés Madrid, the Cathedral Square in Reims, the Church of San Lorenzo in Valdemaqueda Madrid, the restoration of the Hospital del Rey in Melilla, the reconstruction of the Church of Santa Cruz in Medina del Rioseco in Valladolid - are admirable architectural projects of international renown. They each have an outstanding design approach and include both cultural buildings and archaeological sites.
Linazaroso joins Rafael Moneo (Spain) 2010, Guido Canali (Italy) 2011, David Chipperfield (UK) 2012 and Peter Eisenman (USA) 2013 in the list of winners of this high architectural distinction.
