The 'New School' concept

It is difficult to go back to the good old days, but I want to let people know about the post-1990s development of the School and the period when I was in charge.
There was a period of quite a lot of turmoil in the 90s and 91. Everyone wanted "many" schools of architecture. Some of our colleagues had tried to be founders of private schools of architecture: the Technical University, the Ecological University had architecture departments; Spiru Haret went on more. They also trained in the provinces. I, seeing this offensive of many uninitiated towards the field of architecture as a competition to the "Ion Mincu" School, conceived a formula whereby the "Ion Mincu" Institute, which had only an architecture section, would be transformed into a center of culture and education in architecture and urbanism, in the form of a university - "University of Architecture and Urbanism" - which would include all the training and content directions of our profession: Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Interior Design, Faculty of Urban Planning each of them having several different departments. Thus, I sought to strengthen the concept of architectural education, which could only be at "Ion Mincu", given the age, experience, quality and endurance of this school. Thus, we formed the Faculty of Architecture with the departments of Architecture and Architectural Restoration, the Faculty of Interior Architecture with the department of Object Design and the training cycle of Interior Decoration and Furniture and the Faculty of Urban Planning with the department of Landscape Design. The Faculty of Urban Planning had been formed some time before.
We sought to finalize this concept of a new school that would encompass the main directions of the architectural specialist. We saw this separation between object architecture, interior architecture and interior decoration as possible. Things evolved, we succeeded, the two new faculties were recognized, the two professions - urban planner and interior architect - were recognized by law. Subsequently the "Register of Urban Planners" - which coordinates the work of urban planners and is closely linked to the Faculty of Urban Planning - and the "Association of Interior Architects" - the body that coordinates this field and is closely linked to the Faculty of Interior Architecture - were formed.
