What it means to be rector of Ion Mincu University

I believe that being elected rector by the university community means being recognized by others for the performance you have proven over time. The office of Rector is one of representation. What the Rector says and does in the public arena involves not only himself or herself but the university itself. That is why he must realize and accept, with lucidity and courage, a restricted freedom of expression and action. Especially today, when everything is twisted and interpreted. I pay attention to these things myself, but not always what I set out to do succeeds. I think it's also the free spirit of architectural artists. We manifest ourselves freely, regardless of our position in society...

But more than that, for me being a rector means a responsible commitment to getting things done. The daily problems and challenges in a university are multiple and complex. Looking with respect at those who have led this school over the years, you cannot fail to be impressed. Names like: Grigore Ionescu, Ascanio Damian, Cezar Lăzărescu, Emil Barbu Popescu, Ștefan Scafa Udriște and many others are also landmarks for me. These personalities have made a substantial contribution to consolidating the prestige of the school, such a special presence in the Romanian and international university landscape. Therefore, as rector, I am motivated to continue the tradition and enrich the prestige of the university.
