Future Proof

*Future Proof is the process of anticipating the future and developing methods to minimize the effects of the shocks and stresses of future events. Future Proofing is used in various industries, such as design, aimed at preventing climate change.

*This project was presented at Romanian Design Week 2020 and won the Big See Fashion Design Award - Ljubljana 2020.

I believe that a designer's mission is to reflect the times in which he lives and to aesthetically translate social, political and human behavior and events, therefore to be a mirror of society. He has a duty to know, understand and convey the characteristics of the universe in which he finds himself, or the one he has imagined. It is therefore possible to understand human history and the dynamics and evolution of society just by looking at the way people have chosen to dress throughout history.

For these reasons, the designer is connected to everything that happens in the social-political, art, culture, film, literature, sociology, anthropology, architecture, innovation, religion and science, which have a direct impact on the design of collections.

Personally, I have always been curious about the surrounding world, nature, social behaviors and aesthetic evolution in relation to them and I have been searching for the answer to the question: why are things the way they are, regardless of the area of curiosity. As a fashion designer, I tried to understand the affective and social relationship consumers have with clothes, what are the rationales behind their choices and what are the consequences of those choices.
