UAUIM - EEA Upgrade

The modern age showed a taste for fractures. Dissatisfied, rightly or wrongly, with the way art was going, people were determined to initiate radical changes, to establish new rules, to turn everything upside down, to invent new universes. And cultural movements often merged or merged with political movements. Denying pretty much everything that had gone before, they promised "true art" and versions of perfect worlds. But for a culture to exist and mature, an important ingredient must be added: CONTINUITY. Only continuity, over many generations, gives a culture a chance of surviving the tilts of history. CONTINUITY does not mean settling at a point in time. CONTINUITY means consistency and confidence in a system of values. CONTINUITY does not cling to fashions, nor does it snobbishly make a point of aligning itself with them. Novelties are not harmful to a culture, as they are easily assimilated and adapted. CONTINUITY in a culture means permanent transformation, without breaking away from all that has gone before. Houses and cities are structures in a constant state of change, as they are home to people and communities with ever-changing lives. There are many old buildings that have fallen into anonymity, as well as whole groups of buildings that, for various reasons, have not kept up with the times and have become obsolete. They need to be upgraded and upgraded. There are also landscapes which are not sufficiently taken into account but which can be enhanced through inspired architectural intervention. An upgrade can also help a community by providing an architectural support that responds to its needs: an upgrade that implies continuity. |
The modern era manifested its predilection and taste for fractures. Unpleased, entitled or not, by art development and evolution, people proved themselves decided to initiate radical changes, institute new rules, re-inverse almost everything, invent new universes. And not once the cultural movements fused or became companions of political ones. Denying almost everything that occurred until then, it was promised "the real art and versions of perfect worlds" But for a culture to exist and grow-up, one crucial ingredient is compulsory: CONTINUITY. Only continuity, over a lot of generations, offers to one culture the chance to survive to history rebalances. Continuity does not mean the imprisonment in one point of time. Continuity means perseverance and trust into a value system. Continuity does not stick to fashion and neither make with strong emphasis or snobbishly, a goal by alienating these. The novelties are not nuisances to one culture, these being easily assimilated and accepted. The continuity of one culture means a permanent transformation, without breaking with everything that was before and until then. The houses and buildings are structures into a permanent change, because the accommodate people and communities with always different lives. There are a lot of old buildings that felt down deep in anonymity, as well as there are whole ensembles that, for various reasons, did not keep the rhythm with the time and become out fashion (desutette). To those we must intervene for generating the empowerment, for being topic of an "upgrade" process. There are landscapes not sufficiently taken into account but that can be empowered by an inspired architectural intervention. An "upgrade" may come in one's community help, providing henceforth an architectural support that may answer to its needs. |
