INTRAREA AVRAM ZENOVIE

In 1922, Herman Janco – the architect’s father – opens an alley on one side of the 10.000 square meters garden that lay at the back of his house on Trinității Street. On the same land, Marcel Janco will build, in 1926, the first modernist house in Bucharest, and the rest of the property will be subjected to a new plot in 1934.
On this alley some traditional houses will be built, ground floor and first floor, of a relatively modest standard. These are the first houses in Bucharest that can be attributed to Marcel Janco, although the project is signed together with architect I. Rosenthal.
