Little is known about Marcel Janco’s activity as a journalist, a crucial aspect indeed of his career. Only 37 texts have been known so far, namely, those that deal with theoretical issues of modern architecture in the 1920s and 1930s. Most of them were published in Contimporanul, yet there were several magazines that had his essays printed, such as: Mișcarea literară, whose director was Liviu Rebreanu, a successful prose writer, Arta și Orașul (he was among its founders), Facla, Adevărul literar și artistic, and finally Orașul, whose editor-in-chief, Cicerone Theodorescu, was an avant-garde poet.
