My art and Zionism

Born in beautiful Romania, in a well-off family, I had the happiness to develop in a climate of freedom and spiritual enlightment. My mother, a woman of intelligence, gifted with a real musical talent, and my father, a stern man and an industrious tradesman, created the favourable conditions so I can cultivate all my aptitudes.
I showed, ever since the first levels of primary school, a strong attraction towards drawing and colour. As displeased as my father was with the fact I was scribbling on every book and notebook, and filling all the blank spaces with the so-called «meneheleh», teachers’ or mates’ caricatures and portraits, as proud was my mother of my artistic inclinations, that she encouraged constantly and in every way possible. In fact, she was also the one who tried to lure me, just like with my sister and brothers, into the art she practised with virtuosity herself, namely music.
