“Open” A brief account of my history with Marcel Iancu

Marcel Iancu collaborated with women architects and I hope he was not a misogynist. I would have really enjoyed to witness a working meeting between Marcel Iancu, Miliţa Petraşcu and Margareta Sterian.

In my kitchen, the place where I make myself coffee each morning, there is a photograph of the entrance to the Marcel Iancu Museum in Ein Hod Artists Village in Israel.
I took this picture in the autumn of 2008, on a day in October, when it is still beach weather in Israel. The photograph features an Argaman red cock placed above the international signpost indicating the entrance to the museum, below which stands the word “Open”, written in Hebrew and printed out.
I put the photo in a frame after I got back home and kept it in all the kitchens of all the houses I have lived in since, 4 in number, to be more precise. I also took it to Las Vegas, during my 6 months there, in 2015. Somehow, the cock at the entrance to the Marcel Iancu Museum reminded me of my childhood fear
