The learning paradigm and school space

Before we can talk about architecture, it is necessary to open the discussion about learning and how it is realized in public schools today. In Romania, in public schools (we are interested in these schools and not in others, because this is where mass education takes place, both in urban areas and especially in poor rural areas lacking private alternatives), learning is done ex cathedra, based almost exclusively on the delivery of curricular content of a dogmatic nature, although, especially in the humanities, textbooks have come to present subjective perspectives and ideologized interpretations of historical events, philosophical ideas, and even of literary texts selected as fundamental for the general culture of children. Teaching and learning methods differ depending on the teacher and the subject, but in very many cases they are limited to dictation, transcription and assessment, eliminating experimentation, discovery and stimulation of pupils' creativity.
