Ileana TUREANU: Professor Alexandru Sandu, I’d like to ask you to address the issue of contemporary Romanian urban planning in a European context.

In recent years, the journal *Urbanismul* celebrated 100 years of Romanian urban planning, and we observed that, in its early days, Romanian urban planning grappled with and shared international concerns. Cincinat Sfințescu was an active voice in the drafting of foundational documents for urban management.

Where do we stand today? You are the representative of Romanian urban planners in the European body tasked with issues of sustainable territorial development. How are our concerns viewed from the capital of Europe?
