David Sandu or the citadel of form

David Sandu is a metalist artist. The word metalist, in this case, seems too coercive.

The reasons are twofold: of form and of substance.

Like any 21st-century boundary, the boundary of the word metalist is diffusing (Western aestheticians prefer the term blurred-boundaries). The term acquires a dynamic form and can refer to the art and craft of working metal in - let's call it - dreaming.

As for the term "artist-metalist" - in the case of the young jeweler - its substance is densified precisely by the story behind the composition of each object. The jewelry and decorative objects created are, to a large extent, aesthetic territories. How can an aesthetic territory be assimilated into a citadel? Through a formative approach. [...]
