A Romanian architect from Portugal wins the competition of ideas for the "Livada Poștei" park in Brasov

On May 20, the Romanian Order of Architects announced the results of the second phase of the competition of ideas for the redevelopment of the "Livada Poștei" park in Brasov. Eight projects were entered in the competition, with first prize going to the Portuguese architect Ștefan Zaharia. Second place went to arch. Adrian Soare and the third place went to Elena Stoian, Andrei Victor Guțu and Ana Maria Horhat.

The aim of the competition was to select the best proposals for the creation of a sustainable contemporary park, with its own identity, which would constitute a center of interest in the city, coherently articulated in the green system of Brasov. The competition jury was composed of: general manager Schaeffler Alexandru Blemovici Alexandru Blemovici (full member), arch. Răzvan Dracea (full member), arh. Kim Attila (full member), arh. Dorin Ștefan (full member), arh. Edmund Olsefszky (full member) and eng. Cerasela Muntean (alternate member and consultant to the director).

The finalist projects were exhibited at the headquarters of the Brasov-Covasna-Harghita Branch of the Romanian Order of Architects in Brasov, Șirul Beethoven nr. 2, from May 23 to June 10, 2011.

In the first phase of the competition 108 projects were admitted, only 8 were selected for the second phase. From these 8 projects the winners of the second phase of the competition were selected.
