Amara. Fragments of memory Chronicle of a resort that still breathes

We came to study Amara in 20231 motivated by the fact that it represents a world that seems disappearing and that we social researchers have a duty to document and preserve. We discovered in Amara a story familiar to all Romanian seaside resorts: a communion between "band-aid" investments that keep the decaying infrastructure alive and the desire of a large category of people to participate in public life, to be together, to take care of their own bodies and to trust in natural resources. We thus aimed to understand, starting from the current realities of the resort, how the organization of space, holiday practices, health, nature and the relationship with one's own body are interrelated.
