"The sea. I especially love the sea. I've been taken to the sea since I was a baby of only 6 months. Later, for a long period of my life, I went to the sea every year. I loved it so much that sometimes I would catch myself talking to it, telling it how beautiful I found it. I love more the Black Sea, which changes colors so often. But I don't like navies very much. I find that the representation of the sea in painting immobilizes and shrinks it, reduces it to a static nature, whereas what is its own, its endless charm, is precisely its endless movement."
