The affective map of spa heritage

We set out in search of love stories. Of love between inhabitants and cities, between residents and houses, between heritage and those who built it, those who cared for it, those who loved it and perhaps abandoned it. My love of heritage has taken me in the footsteps of old bathing establishments in spa resorts, starting from the Black Sea, from the once iconic Movilă or Carmen Sylva resort, to the top of the mountains over 1,100 meters, at Stâna de Vale, officially the highest spa resort in our country. To entice you to discover the spa heritage, I have to start with a word of warning: the gems are not always obvious at first sight, often the decrepit facades, the peeling plaster, the missing tiled roofs hide fascinating stories and an aura of mystery that is hard to unravel. But I recommend a visit to at least one spa resort a year, for the cure of fresh air, mud, mineral waters, sunshine and, last but not least, for the cure of heritage that deserves to be seen with new eyes.
