From Techirghiol village to Techirghiol resort

The urban landscape, part of the spa heritage

The issue of seaside resorts and the heritage they encompass is a subject frequently debated over the last decade, both through projects aimed at safeguarding and promoting the architecture of spas and resorts, as well as through exhibitions, press, media and specialized articles, scientific papers on the subject or even the websites of tourism agencies, wellness centers. Among the best-known projects, we mention those launched by the INP in the period 2020-2023: "Bohemian and Leisure. Spa and leisure heritage on the Black Sea coast"1 (20 June-15 November 2022) and "Spa and leisure heritage in Banat"2 (May-December 2020). The result of these actions is positive at the local administrative and social level, but insufficient to generate the revitalization of these resorts.
