An association just starting out!

The Association of Student Architects "Spiru Haret" (ASASH) is an association founded at the beginning of February 2011 by a group of students with an attitude in the face of monotony and indifference, gathered in the interests of cultural activities and events, whether public or internal.
The aims of the "Spiru Haret" Association of Student Architects are to create and express an identity of student architects and to promote their image, to raise the level of professional training of students, to participate in order to obtain the necessary framework for a high level education system, to defend, represent and express the interests of student architects at any level, and to create the necessary organizational framework for student involvement.
It all started a year ago when, together with a colleague, I participated in a national architectural competition called Archetypes. The competition was to become the main reason, or at least the one that led us to set up this association. In the first phase of the competition, at the Finalists Awards Gala, among the nominees was a group of enthusiastic students eager to highlight their team's achievements. "Team" is the word behind this association and we want this word to reach every student eager to assert themselves and really create something in society, it is the word that motivated the other 3 founding members. At the risk of repeating the word "team", I want the ASASH TEAM to become an important part of the formation of the Student-Architect and to have a positive influence on the society we live in.
Personally, I devote 80% of my free time to the association and, to be honest, I do it with great enthusiasm, the same that I had when I founded this association, with soul and professional satisfaction, at every event realized by ASASH in support of student architects. I am sure that we will get where we want to be, but I will not forget that this will only be possible through "team". Therefore, I invite every student, regardless of his or her faculty, not only to go beyond the information he or she has received in lectures or seminars, but to enrich his or her knowledge by doing something extracurricular in an organized and like-minded group.
Some of the projects realized in the academic year 2010/2011:
- CASA 2011 - it is a national competition that takes place in second year, second semester. It is conceived by AStA Cluj and supported by all Romanian architectural associations.
- How to 2D & 3D - is a project supported by AStA Cluj and coordinated by students for students, in an attempt to help colleagues eager to learn 2D and 3D modeling programs.
- Painting workshop - a project supported by ASASH and coordinated by Mr. lecturer univ. drd. Moldovanu Mihai to help students eager to improve their graphic representation.
- Film evening - a special program designed to view an architectural film in a specially arranged setting in a premises on Lipscani, aiming to enrich knowledge and create socializing discussions.
We are at the beginning of our journey, but with high hopes and with many reasons to make our mark on society and to make it known that the "Spiru Haret" Faculty of Architecture has a say - and a big one - through the achievements of valuable students guided by valuable professors.
