German seriousness with a Balkan smile

Costin, as we call him, is already a young man known for his work. Interior design and individual housing have been occasions to illustrate his refinement. Recently, students from the Faculty of Architecture in Timisoara visited his own house, which is in the final stages of completion, and were able to appreciate the atmosphere. Building your own home is a test for any architect and Costin passed it with flying colors. In the early 2000s, we worked together on a few residential projects and a commercial development in Oradea - it was a real pleasure, at least for me.

On the other hand, Costin was the life of the parties in our office, with his slightly sarcastic humor. I don't know how much his years with us at Andreescu & Gaivoronschi mattered to him, but his internships in Germany were very important for his formation. His seriousness, his cult for a job well done and his passion for the profession blossomed then, with the over-summer scholarship at the Fakultät für Architektur der Universität Karlsruhe in 1998, and were reinforced by three phases of work at Architekturbüro Günter Leonhardt & Associates in Stuttgart.

Important is that he returned to Timișoara and, after another three years spent here, in 2005 he made a name for himself with his first work: the Caius Lazăr House, nominated for the Timișoara Architecture Annual. Others followed: Casa Vizitiu, Casa Racheru, Extinderea Casa Caius Lazăr, but the big surprise was the Re-modeling of the apartment in a typical early 20th century building in the Fabric district - Timișoara, at 5, 3 August Street, 3 August Street, awarded at the Timișoara Annual of Architecture in 2013 and Nominated at the National Biennale of Architecture in 2014 - a work of particular elegance and refinement. Last year, a new work of his, a white, ground-floor villa with atrium courtyards was again an event, being nominated for the National Biennale and arousing real interest among the international jury of the Timișoara BETA Euroregional Architecture Biennale.
