2020 - Memories of the future

Looking back all these 50 years, 1990 and 1996 are two important years, marking two threshold moments - the rebirth of the School and its affirmation. For some of us, graduates of both Timisoara and Ion Mincu, there is a continuity in what we have been doing since the late 1970s and early 1980s, whether it was teaching, heritage and urban planning, rediscovering modernity or theoretical study. So certain paths go back beyond 1990, while others, those of the graduates of the School since its re-establishment, start in 1996 and are particularly dynamic.

In this regard, I would mention the intense engagement of the latest generation of graduates in particularly generous initiatives such as those mentioned, namely the Timișoara Architecture Annual, the coagulation of the Faculty and the Timiș OAR Timiș branch in the ARTENCOUNTERS Biennial in 2015, when the organization of the exhibition "SIGMA - Cartography of Learning - 1968-1983", the workshops organized with the students provided an opportunity to reinterpret what the artistic avant-garde meant in the learning of art and architecture in the 7th decade at our School in particular, this about "Would it be possible that...." from the opening motto of this text32.
