Confessions

Three weeks before my admission, during the intensive preparation session, I got in touch for the first time with Architecture in Iasi. I don't know exactly why, but I had resolved not to look for any image of the faculty, wanting my first experience to be on the spot; I imagined that an "architects' house" must be a highly representative building, what I would call iconic today; but the contrast between the mental projection of the faculty's image, based mainly on steel and glass (obviously generated by a still underdeveloped visual culture), and reality was quite striking. At that moment, for me, gray concrete was witness to another era. The general public's ideas about architecture schools are relatively simplistic: "it's hard, you struggle in college, but after... you'll make a lot of money", "it's a kind of combination of math and art" or "how cool, you draw all day long!"; the fact that you are in front of this article indicates, predominantly, belonging to an architects/artists world or a tangency with this medium.
