Once upon a time...! For me, like never!

Being one of the few remaining people emotionally involved in the existence and history of the Faculty of Architecture in Iași, I was asked to evoke some of the aspects that might be of interest to those who wish to know what and how were the beginnings of this place of higher education in the current Technical University "Gh. Asachi" Iași. I will insist more on the beginnings because about the present enough and enough is known.

For me this endeavor is quite difficult. I would have so much to tell, all of which has its own importance and charm, since 15 of my years of work have been intertwined with this school. By the nature of the function and the job I was constantly in contact and in the midst of the students, the teaching staff, the school in general, that it is very difficult to choose what is worth saying and what is not to be said and found out. The memories are crowding in my mind, as if begging to be put down on paper, but I will only point out those that were the salt and pepper of the school, so beloved by the generations of students who have crossed its threshold.

The Faculty of Architecture in Iasi was founded in the fall of 1969, the huge task of the beginning of the road being entrusted to Nicolae Porumbescu, who came from Bucharest, known in the world of architects for numerous projects, among the latest being the State Circus in Bucharest.
