A postcard, Domeniul Stirbey

The Stirbey estate in Drăgășani has been in the ownership of the Stirbey family for over 300 years. The current winery building was built around 1910 by Prince Barbu Al. Stirbey on the site of an older building. The name of the architect is unknown. It was expropriated in 1949 and returned to my father-in-law Alexandru Costinescu (nephew of Prince Barbu Al. Știrbey) in 2002. We renovated it in 2002/2003 in its old form. The renovation project was made by Mr. arh. Cristinel Vlad from Râmnicu Vâlcea.
