Herzog and De Meuron design new stadium in Bordeaux
Architects Herzog and De Meuron will design the new stadium in Bordeaux. They won the project in association with the VINCI-FAYAT consortium, which has been selected as general contractor for the work.
The stadium will be located inside the city's green ring, will have 43,000 seats and is expected to be ready in 2015. The stadium's structure, made of a series of white columns, resembles a birch forest, blending in with the surrounding environment.
Herzog and De Meuron have also designed the Olympic stadium in Beijing and the Allianz Arena in Munich.
