Tutors. Silvia Demeter-Lowe and her guests.

This workshop is addressed in particular to students and professionals in the field of architecture and construction and aims to provide an opportunity for participants to engage in practical actions, thus learning "hands-on" about the benefits of using traditional building materials and techniques. The workshop venue - the village of Mesendorf - also provides an example of a habitat where the built and natural environment coexist harmoniously.

Architect Silvia Demeter-Lowe is the organizer and initiator of the Mesendorf workshop. She is a graduate of Oxford Brookes University's Master's course, a 2004 SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, UK) Fellow and has 10 years of experience in the field of architectural conservation and ecological architecture in the UK and Romania.

The Mesendorf Workshop was able to reach its fourth edition thanks to the continuous support of the architect Șerban Cantacuzino, president and founder of the Pro Patrimonio Foundation. This year two "Cantacuzino" scholarships will be awarded. These will be awarded to the two participants whose motivational essays are the most convincing.

Also, on the evening of September 14, as every year, the traditional "Garden Party" will take place at the end of the workshop.

In view of the practical nature of the workshop, participants are required to wear appropriate protective equipment for work on the construction site: helmet, overalls, goggles, gloves, work shoes.
