The project starts from the premise that the regeneration of abandoned industrial sites can become a means of cultural, social and symbolic reconnection between a community and its own past. The site chosen - the former Columbia refinery in Ploiești - has a strong sense of identity, shaped by both the city's industrial history and the trauma of the Second World War. Today, the area is in an advanced state of decay, but retains valuable concrete ruins of former oil storage tanks and a rich layer of spontaneous vegetation that has reclaimed land once dominated by industrial activity.
