Museum of the December 1989 Anticommunist Revolution

Through my diploma project I propose the museumization of the most important event in the recent history of Romania, a traumatic and liberating moment in the contemporary evolution of the country: the December 1989 Anti-Communist Revolution.

The chosen location is Revolution Square in Bucharest, which, although a historically and symbolically charged space, remains today an inert, confused and undervalued place, both in urban, social and symbolic terms; the place where Nicolae Ceausescu delivered his last speech, interrupted by the boos of the crowd and followed by his flight by helicopter from the roof of the current Ministry of Internal Affairs (former Central Committee).
