The reactivation of the Popular Cinematograph in Brasov aims to reconvert an abandoned building into an educational and cultural space, through a carefully calibrated contemporary intervention, which proposes a dialog between old and new, between massive and transparent, between past and present.

During the inter-war period, art cinemas were a lively presence in Romania's major cities.
