The first issue of Arhitectura magazine this year is entirely dedicated to the graduation projects participating in the 2025 National Architecture Biennial, including the award-winning and nominated projects in the “Student Architects’ Architecture” section. The issue brings together exclusively projects completed during school, at the end of the academic journey, and offers a broad picture of how the new generation of architects thinks, tests, and formulates its stance toward the profession. The publication of these projects continues a long-standing tradition of the magazine, but in an expanded format that takes on the role of documenting and archiving a crucial moment of transition. The National Architecture Biennial provides an open framework in which diploma projects from all architecture schools in the country can be submitted, and this freedom, alongside the students’ courageous decision to subject their work to evaluation outside the university setting, is an initiative we appreciate and consistently encourage. Thesis projects remain a distinct territory within the Biennial: they operate with hypotheses, scenarios, and exercises in intellectual freedom that are not yet constrained by the reality of construction, but which say a great deal about the schools, the themes of the moment, and the possible directions of tomorrow’s architecture. This issue thus serves as a snapshot of the generation now entering the profession and as a benchmark for the years to come.
