My diploma project, the Museum of Roma Culture, History and Art, proposes an intervention dedicated to the preservation, research, exhibition and exploration of Roma cultural identity within the urban fabric of Bucharest. The conceptual foundations of the project were established in my dissertation, Language, Space, Symbol. Critical Approaches to the Development of Memorial Architecture, an investigation into the semiotic and spatial mechanisms through which architecture can embody collective memory and negotiate historical trauma.
