In a city such as Bucharest, where there is a growing tension between the dynamics of development and the need to anchor in the city's heritage, built heritage must be seen as an active vector of regeneration that supports community cohesion and underpins the continuity of collective memory. Historic buildings are silent witnesses of successive layers of urban life which, through reconnection and valorization, can acquire a new role in contemporary society.
